Cancellation Policy

You can cancel orders only before they have been produced. Please call us immediately if you wish to cancel an order. Please try to contact us withing 24 hours of ordering, after 24 hours your order is typically in the production process.

Refund Policy

We are committed to customer satisfaction, and we kindly request that you inspect your order promptly upon receipt. Any shortages or errors must be reported via email within 3 business days of receiving the shipment.

Please note that personalized and custom-ordered items may not be returned for a refund unless errors occurred on our part or during shipping. We fulfill orders based on your receipt, and if the order is produced exactly as ordered, no refund will be issued. In the event of an error on our part, we will expedite the order back into production immediately.

If you have any questions regarding your sign or design please leave a comment in the shopping cart COMMENT area.

Please refrain from returning items to Boat Lettering To You, as we do not automatically issue refunds solely due to the absence of the product.

Size Policy

As with all our products the size shown is the overall size. This includes multiple lines, graphics, and hanging letters such as p,j, and q. The size is not based on the capital letter height. To measure correctly you must measure the height by positioning your tape measure vertically measuring from the complete top to the complete bottom of your graphic. The width is measured in a similar manner. However, in most cases, we provide a 50% discount for a new size if you aren't satisfied with what you have received.

Color Policy

"We aim to produce our products using industry-standard colors and printing methods. When choosing colors, please refer to the color names provided rather than relying solely on your screen's display. Variations may occur due to differences in screen resolutions between what customers see and what we see during production. If color accuracy is crucial, kindly leave a comment before ordering to specify your preferred color. Additionally, we offer PANTONE color matching capabilities; for more details, feel free to reach out to us.

Please note, we do not offer replacements solely based on color variation. However, in most cases, we provide a 50% discount for a new color if you aren't satisfied with what you have received. If the error was on our part, we will promptly send out a free replacement.

Proof Policy

Our policy requires customers to review and approve all proofs before ordering. Therefore, we're unable to provide refunds for orders that have been produced and include visible mistakes present on the approved proof.

Acceptable vinyl surfaces

  • Glass
  • Boats (with factory gel coat)
  • Metals (Must be painted with a smooth, glossy enamel.)
  • Vehicles (Must be painted with a smooth, glossy enamel.)
  • Fiberglass (Must be painted with a smooth, glossy enamel.)
  • Wood (Must be painted with a smooth, glossy enamel.)
  • Other Painted Surfaces (Paint must be smooth and glossy, vinyl will not stick to oxidized, faded, or peeling paint)
  • Low Energy Plastics (such as found on some kayaks, waverunners, canoes, and other power sports equipment) acceptable if high tack adhesive is selected
  • Inflatables (non textured) are acceptable if high tack adhesive is selected (deflating will cause adhesion issues).

Surfaces vinyl won’t stick on (Not acceptable). We will not replace any items on these surfaces.

  • Cement
  • Raw Lumber
  • Oxidized or faded paint
  • Peeling paint
  • Rubber
  • Inflatables (non textured) deflated after installation.
  • Raw Metals
  • Oily Surfaces
  • Primer Painted Surfaces
  • Rough Gel Coat (on boats)
  • Textured non smooth surfaces, such as paneling found on house boats
  • Surface coatings such as wax or ceramic coating

Surface Damage Policy

BoatLetteringToYou.com assumes no responsibility for surface damage caused by our graphics during installation, removal, or the duration of time applied.

New Paint Policy

Any graphics including domed and vinyl lettering should not be applied to a freshly painted surface. You must wait at least 30 days regardless of what your body shop advises before applying graphics. It is critical to follow these guidelines. Fresh paint will go through an outgas period which will cause the vinyl adhesive to prematurely release; this is particularly an issue with domed lettering. Fresh paint can also be easily damaged by vinyl adhesive. Should you 'pull' on your surface by accident while applying your graphic it is highly likely you will lift the fresh paint off!

Registration Numbers, Compliant Lettering, and Local Laws: BoatLetteringToYou.com provides guidelines for designing DOT and Boat Registration numbers in accordance with local laws. We frequently see orders which are outside of our guidelines and blatantly violate local laws. Firstly, it is your responsibility to create compliant lettering with your local laws. We are not responsible for any citations or violations as a result of your design using our online tools or personal advisement. BoatLetteringToYou.com will not be liable for any fines or penalties incurred as a result of the vinyl lettering designed. You are creating custom lettering at your own risk.

Communications from BoatLetteringToYou.com: Email is our primary means of communication. We send your order confirmation, shipping notification, and any subsequent notifications via email. Be sure to allow mail from contact@boatletteringtoyou.com and monitor your spam folder. Should you leave a comment, ask a question, or we possibly require contact with you, we will first send an email. If you request a phone call, we will make our best effort to call you within one business day and leave a message if no one answers. Acceptable Content

We reserve the right to deny production of custom products for any reason. We will not produce logos transmitted to us that are copyrighted unless the customer has explicit permission to do so. We will not produce any custom product that includes adult content in general including nudity, x rated content, and language. Orders that are cancelled due to violations of content will be refunded in full.

Shipping Policy

Products are sent to the customer by SignsToYou. It is our best intention to ship your order within 3-5 business days of receipt (Monday - Friday). We provide guidance via our website regarding delivery dates, however we are not responsible for firm delivery dates that may have been missed for any reason. Our production is estimated, if you have a firm in hands date please reach out to us or select rush services.

We ship to the shipping address that you provide at checkout - please make sure that it is entered correctly!

Tracking numbers will be provided in an email link after orders are placed, your tracking number will appear as soon as your order has shipped.

We are not responsible for shipping delays after your item has left our facility. It is your responsibility to choose a shipping method appropriate to get your item to you on time. Please contact us for suggestions on shipping methods if you have questions.

Lost Packages

USPS Guidance

We follow USPS guidance on declaring packages lost for USPS Express Mail. Express Mail is considered lost after 7 days from the time of shipment. Due to the fact USPS Priority and First Class mail do not offer a delivery guarantee we evaluate each case to determine if the item is considered lost. USPS Priority Mail and USPS First Class (standard shipping) is reviewed after 15 days upon the date of shipment for consideration of lost status. We evaluate the tracking information to determine the status of the package.

Packages marked 'Delivered' but cannot be located are evaluated on a case by case basis. 'Delivered' lost packages must be reported to use within 15 days in order for us to attempt to locate the package or provide guidance to you to find it. In most cases 'Delivered' packages are ultimately found or recovered. Check with your neighbors or local post office if possible.

UPS Guidance

UPS now offers photo delivery. If this photo delivery matches your location and you do not have the package. You may have to work with your local authorities on a claim. UPS can help with this. For packages that say delivered and you have not received please wait up to 48 hours or check with nearby facilities or neighbors. After 48 hours we can file a claim. Claims can take up 10 business days to process. Based on UPS guidelines if the claim is rejected, we will do our best to work with you. As mentioned this is a case by case solution. If you need your package asap in some cases, we can ship out a replacement in good faith, but if the package needs expedited we will not cover that shipping replacement.

Returned Packages

Should a package be returned to us due to an incorrect address or location specific delivery exception (not otherwise the fault of the shipping company) it will be the customers responsibility to pay to have the item reshipped. If the order qualified for free shipping then the standard shipping fee will be charged. We will not be able to resend the item until it arrives back at our facility.

Reporting Shipping Damage

Should your order incur shipping damage please do not discard the order. We will need photographic evidence to provide a replacement. Please send 1 photo of the box damage and 1 photo of the damaged items to contact@boatletteringtoyou.com. Upon receipt of the photos we will promptly replace the order at no cost to you. If you throw away the package and do not submit evidence we can not send a replacement.

Privacy Information
